This is a 1970s vintage men’s long sleeved cardigan style sweater jacket made in the Canadian North by native Inuit.  The label on the sweater reads “Handcrafted by Canadian Eskimos”.  The term Eskimo is no longer used as it is considered derogatory, given by non-Natives, and now has been replaced by “Inuit”, which means “the people”. It has a large collar that can be worn up or down - I posed it both ways in the photos.  It has raglan type long sleeves and eight large carved bone buttons.  There is a pocket built onto either lower front side.  The piece is made in a blended green and white wide ribbed knit, very attractive.  It is unmarked as to size, and although it should fit a men’s size medium, please rely on the following measurements for fit (compare measurements to a similar sweater that you might own and note that the knit has some stretch to it):

Sleeves: 32” long from neck seam

Sleeve inseam:  20”

Chest: 46” around, taken under the arms, unstretched

Waist:  42” around

Bottom: 34” around, unstretched, stretches out to 46” max

Overall length: 27", measured flat

Content label: Pure Virgin Wool with the Woolmark guarantee symbol. 

It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, soiling, staining or odour.  There is a tiny thread reinforcement at the bottom to stop some knit unraveling, really minor, but mentioned in the interest of full disclosure.  This sweater has been very well kept over the years.

This is a wonderful sweater - I don’t believe that the Inuit produced many sweaters, preferring parkas, so this is a nice collectible piece!
